A 3-minute walk to the sea

The house stands on a gentle hill, a 3-minute walk from the sea. From the windows, you can watch the sun rise over the horizon.

Hammock and telescope

The house has a hammock and an astronomical telescope. On clear nights, you can look at the stars through the telescope.

The private sauna on a mat

In October 2026, we added a tent-style sauna for guests to use in the house.

You can have a BBQ in the covered garage or on the beach, a 3-minute walk away.

In October 2026, we added a tent-style sauna for guests to use in the house.

As shown in the photos, it stands on a mat indoors. Inside, there is a wooden chair and a bucket.

The sauna heats up to about 60 to 70°C.

There is no cold plunge. Please use the shower in the bathroom instead.

You can cool down outside in the small garden. Please ask us how many people can use the sauna at once, the hours it is available and the fee.

Why we started

I spend busy days in Tokyo, and I renovated OCEAN VILLA MINT to make time off for myself.

Without leaving your room, you can watch the sun rise over the horizon.

Before it opened, I spent quiet weekends here, looking out at the Pacific horizon from this room and listening to the waves and the tide.

I came to want other busy people who wish to take back ‘their own time’ to enjoy this view and this calm too.

That is how I came to open it as a holiday rental.

Amenities and facilities

KitchenWe provide tableware, pots, frying pans, a rice cooker, a microwave, a toaster, a kettle and more. Seasonings are not provided.
Bath, washroom and toiletsThe bathroom and washroom are on the 2nd floor. You can see the sea from the bathroom window. There is one toilet, on the 2nd floor.
For childrenThere is a hammock, an astronomical telescope and one baby futon set. There is no baby cot, baby chair or children's tableware.
BBQYou can have a BBQ in the covered garage or on the beach, a 3-minute walk away. We lend a BBQ grill, grill net and tongs free of charge. Please bring your own charcoal and firewood.
ToiletriesWe provide bath towels, face towels, body soap, shampoo, conditioner, toothbrushes and a hair dryer.
Appliances and internetAir conditioning, Wi-Fi, a refrigerator, a TV and a washing machine are available.
Parking2 cars (1 outdoor, 1 in the garage).

Rates are for renting the whole of OCEAN VILLA MINT for one night.

Stays of 3 nights or more are 20% off the nightly rate. Pre-holiday nights are Saturdays and nights before public holidays. High season is 28 Dec to 3 Jan, 29 Apr to 4 May and 17 Jul to 28 Aug. Please contact us about whether rates include tax.

How to book

  1. Choose your dates on the availability calendar.
  2. Enter your name, the number of guests and your credit card. Your booking is confirmed right away.
  3. You will receive a confirmation email.
  4. We will send you check-in instructions after you book.

Cancellation fees and payment

Cancellation fees are 20% from 30 to 7 days before arrival, 50% from 6 to 2 days before, and 100% on the day before and the day of arrival.

Payment is by credit card in advance only. The card you register when booking is charged automatically 3 days before check-in. For bookings made within 3 days of check-in, it is charged right after booking. Payment on site is not available.
